Nym was from a prominent family in the eleven kingdoms of evermeet. His father was a great leather crafter nym learned from his father by working in the shop for him. Even from his youth his sibling could tell that he was different, his father tried to dismiss his odd behavior as a childhood phase. Of all his oddities was his imaginary friend by the name of Shadow.

Nym claimed that shadow would follow him around and talk to him in dreams. Nym grew up noticing that the thing that normal elves were interested in were not what he was into. Nym would pick up strips of metal and bend them into odd shapes.

Over time Nym never spoke of shadow and his father thought that this whole phase was over with. Nym was finally starting to act somewhat normal. Then on Nym’s one hundredth and twenty birthday nym saw his father lock away his armor and the family’s sword in a large chest. Nym had this burning inside to look at the armor and his family’s sword closer and to fill the grip in his hand. Nym took the pieces of metal and started to mess with the lock. After about 10 minutes Nym unlocked the trunk, this was the first time that Nym felt normal. Nym reached down into the trunk to grip the sword when something burned on his hand try as he might he couldn’t close his hand on the pommel.

He pulled his hand away to check for cuts or scratches or for a sign of poisoning but his hand was fine. Nym’s father walked in to find his son unable to grip the family sword.

Angry and frustrated at Nym his father explained to him that only a paladin of Corellorinan could use this sword and any one else that served another god was not permitted to touch it. Nym was confused he had never swore fealty to another god or any god for that matter then he had thought back to his younger years back to his days of Shadow. He had told shadow he would follow him any where if he were to teach him the tricks with the metal pieces.

Nym now had to tell his father about this but instead he packed up his belongings and sold what he didn’t need and left Evermeet to make a new life for himself.

From the journal of Bodynock: In side notes I noticed in Nym an inner struggle that he fills lost and confused I will try to help him out besides I always wanted brothers. I sense that although nym has issues his heart seems genuine but with a twinge of darkness I shall look to myself to watch over him.

From the journal of Derek: Nym is a quiet person who tells us little about himself but the cleric seems to like him and the cleric has solid judgment and principles  so I have excepted him as well although I do not sense evil on him his aura is somewhat clouded I shall have to watch him very carefully.
