This spare
brick building is shaded by a few mid large pine trees. Crenellations at the top are manned by
archers, and periodically patrols emerge from or return to this area. The road in front of this building is
within easy firing range of longbows and crossbows, and is constantly
monitored. A cadre of guards stands
watch at the gate, and request that any suspicious looking caravans reveal their
contents.
Carts and
wagons periodically enter the city or emerge from it, bearing their goods and
produce. The soldiers wave warmly
to passersby who acknowledge them, and chat amongst themselves as they lean on
their pikes.
The Guard Post houses half of all of the soldiers charged with protecting the city. Half of all local patrols leave from and return to this building.
