"Falban Hall" (1)
You see a large stone building, surrounded by several semi-circular gardens full of springtime blooms and topiaries carved in the shape of various animals. Ivy runners climb to great heights along the age colored bricks of the structure, circling diamond shaped windows and a series of jagged spires. Atop the two tallest spires, the colors of and Thesk flap gently in the breeze.
An orange cobbled path leads to a shaded plaza in front of the building, in the center of which is a marble fountain in the shape of four dogs, spitting water back to back, in each of the cardinal directions. The arched entryway leading into the domed hall is fitted with pieces of smoke and rose quartz, and bears a plaque with the ancient Eastern saying “In all things governed, scrutiny with reservation”.
A squad of guards wielding masterfully crafted halberds and maille patrol the area, and stand watch at the door. They check to see that any that enter the building are unarmed.
Falban Hall is the city hall, the bureaucratic hub of the city. It is from this building that taxes are collected, laws are passed, trials are held, and deeds are registered. Phent is run by a now legendary bureaucracy, and this is its seat. It was built two centuries past, destroyed in a war ten years later, and was rebuilt in its current form.
