This ancient looking brick and mortar building looks somewhat run down.  However new layers of paint cover all of the woodwork, and some attempt has been made to keep the short potted trees in frontof the building alive.

A sign hanging from the structure reads "Leiden Hostel".  A smaller sign near it lists prices for food and lodging. Judging by the crowd you see wandering in and out of the building, you get the impression this hostel was built for those of a certain class.  A very poor class.
