Ebony tower marks the end of Eagle Lane, and is the home of one-quarter of the city’s guards. This tower is located quite a ways from Merchant’s Gate, the north gate of the city, but sends continuous patrols to guard this gate, and the surrounding buildings and areas, including Field Home.
The tower
itself received its name due to the fact it is tiled from ground to peak with
dark slate. Two deep shades of gray
slate spiral up to the top parapets. The sixty foot high walls around the city
connect with the tower, which is accessible from both sides of the wall. Patrols enter and leave the top of the
wall from this location as well.
