Session 5

 Orghar's Clan

* A room full of dangerous moldy goods were found.  A fire trap was set off there.

* The party set forth, and came upon a long and narrow room, full of corpses of orcs, kobolds, lizardmen, troglodytes, darkmantles, rats, and perhaps a few other creatures.

* Another room of darkmantles were found, surrounding some sort of trapped magic tusk-dagger.  They were all killed, and through diverse efforts the tusk-dager was captured.

* A fire trap was set off, wounding a few people.  Scorched orcs were found.

* Nym discovered a secret passage leading to a large room "bubbling" with trash.  The Paladin Vroomtilt could sense a shifting mass of evil creatures beneath the refuse, and it was determined that the heaps of trash contained throngs of fiendish rats.

* Though Pacha attempted to stop him, Nym managed to hurl a lit torch into the ancient trash heap, setting years worth of methane ablaze, filling the room and part of the hallway with a rolling gout of fire.  Everyone got scorched.  The trash heap was set ablaze, and the billowing smoke forced the group to seal the area back off.

* A room full of fiendish darkmantles, several large and well fed beasts, was found.  (This room had many doors and appeared to be a major crossroad).  A major battle ensued with the ferocious bests.  Darkmantle guts and ichor were spread about the room, and they fought viciously, even as they landed on blades and pikes they continued to fight.  Eventually they were all slain.

* In a southern hallway, two orcs were spied guarding a door.  Takglub chatted with the war-weary soldiers briefly.  Seeing little opton but to trust that the party did not mea harm, they offered to allow the group to see Orghar, the Orc chief and head of the Orc component of the expedition.

* After passing through a room full of injured Orcs, Tak attempted to speak to Orghar, but he had gone mad and had become non-responsive.  Only when Tak attempted to lead the rest of the clan did he snap awake, howling "You not chief!".

* The group tried to subdue Orgar, but to no avail.  He had led his tribe into a foolish trap, gotten most of his clan killed, gone out of his mind, and would have it no other way than a fight to the death.

* Orghar raged, and a bloody fight ensued.  The party slew him, as the remaining orcs of Orghar's clan looked on, unsure.

* When Tak struck the klling blow, Orghar fell and hi heart ruptured with madness and rage.  Grumchon, a lieutenant, gave to Tak Orghar's axe and declared him leadre of the clan, as he had slain the old chief, and could finally free the tribe from the clutches of the dungeon.

* After leading the last fraction of the decimated clan to the exit, directions to eachothers dwellings were granted between Grumchon and Tak.  Perhaps they would meet again.  Grumchon led the orcs toward their caves further along the Thesk mountains.
